POSITION FILLED Pen Rider Position Available - 10,000 head starter/grow yard located in NW Oklahoma specializing in high risk cattle looking to add to our team. Not a beginner or trainee position. Must have experience in identifying sick cattle, good horsemanship and working knowledge of quiet cattle handling practices, be teachable, own at least 2 working cow/ranch horses, be familiar with feed lot practices, speak fluent English, be willing to work long hours during peak seasons and work in all weather conditions. Not a 9-5 job, available to work weekends & holidays, applicant must be motivated, a team player but can work unsupervised and work until job is completed. If your spouse and/or family doesn’t understand the demands of being a cowboy - please do not apply. It’s not a job that will run you in the ground while the boss is off playing. The boss/owner is on-site and will be working right along side you. He does not ask you to do anything he is not willing to do himself. Duties include but not limited to: doctoring, processing, moving, feeding, shipping & receiving cattle, checking grass cattle and fences plus some maintenance work. Starting salary $42k + DOE, 3Br/2ba housing & basic utilities provided, will hay and feed up to 3 working horses, personal 3 stall barn with tack, beef available, off weekend & holiday rotation, yearly bonuses and opportunities for additional income, family oriented atmosphere, no drugs, smoking or drama.
