So these little demons (I mean bugs) are out in full force here. The tiny black ones that hurt like crazy. They get in my hair and ride in on our clothes and continue to attack once inside!

I can’t even work in my garden in peace.

What do you call these?

I tried something kinda crazy…

I made my base cookie dough recipe but replaced half the butter with bacon 🥓 drippings, crunchy little bits and all.

They’re sweet. They’re smoky. They’re savory all in one! It’s definitely a niche flavor, but my almost 17 yo ate his entire care package of them at once and called me just to ask what I did differently this time!

I was sabotaged!!

Can you spot the cut (nibbled) break line? I just want to preface that everyone is safe. I did drive like this unknowingly to the nearest town but could soon tell something was wrong.

Turns out a squirrel 🐿️ took refuge under my truck and was encouraged to take up residence by my dog 🐕. And evidently Mr. Squirrel is a nervous chewer.

So my truck got limped to our body shop and we await the damages.

All while we are trying to navigate out first week of homeschool, bathroom ceiling is torn up from mold, kitchen is a wreck as our cupboards arrived heavily damaged, produce is coming in and needs my attention, and our AC is out of commission. And it’s my birthday this week. Could use some positivity and prayers around here.

There is a lesson in this, always is, but sometimes I’m a slow learner 😆.
