Sold about half of all of the watermelons I harvested yesterday. Thank you to anyone who came out and supported us at the farmers market today! Other good news is that the farm stand is stocked up with freshly picked watermelons and will be open again starting tomorrow. This time there are multiple different varieties to choose from: Bradford, Odell’s White, Georgia Rattlesnake, and Ledmon.

Harvested over one hundred watermelons today! I opened a few to see how they were, and boy were they sweet! One of the standouts was this orangeglo. It was one of the sweetest melons I have harvested this season. I harvested a lot more orange fleshed watermelons, and will set some out at the farm stand on Sunday when I restock it. Over the last three days, I have sold almost all of the watermelons I put out there. Thank you to everyone that came out and bought a watermelon, it means a lot!
Tomorrow I will be at the Judd Hill Farmers Market in Jonesboro selling the watermelons that I harvested today, so come visit the Birdeye Farm stand if you are out that way!

Starting tomorrow at 10 am, come get a super sweet and organic watermelon from our farmstand at 10 CR 334, Cherry Valley, AR 72324!
It has been a little bit since I last posted, but here is a major update on this years watermelon crop… we have officially started harvesting and are now selling from our farmstand, which is right by the watermelon field! We have 24 watermelons available thru the end of this week. Mainly Georgia rattlesnake, which is turning out to be one of my favorite varieties from the 8 different watermelons I grew this year. For payment there is a cash box (honor system), as well as Birdeye Farm’s QR codes for Venmo and Cash App. The prices are written on the watermelons.
Pictured above are the farm stand, and the sign (plus the talented artist!) which will be placed by the road tomorrow morning when the farm stand opens up for the first day of the summer season!

The watermelons have been Kenza the farm dog approved! Sadly it was underripe, but she enjoyed it nevertheless.
