Buy the flowers. Grow the flowers. Always.
Signs and wonders
Beauty and rest
Psalm 37:7
Isn’t it a blessing to see flowers blooming? To receive a bouquet of flowers to marvel at the beauty and the way bees and butterflies are drawn to them as well.
The wildflowers growing among weeds. The flowers in the cooler being chilled to sustain life a bit longer after they’ve been cut.
The care we take to put them in a vase until they slowly droop over with no sign of life left within them.
The time we spend in our yards. Tending. Weeding. In awe of their beauty as they bloom. Knowing that it’s work. Yet. The work is all worth it to see them blooming. A brief smile across your face. A gift for others to see. A gift for yourself to cut and place in a vase within your home.
Then one day you realize that you have been watching their colors fade slowly in that vase. The upright life of the flower & stem slowly droops. The water becomes merky. You may reach to grab the bouquet and throw it in the trash.
Pause. Wait.
There’s more there than you may realize.
When you cut off the tops of the dead lifeless flower and let it dry out. You can gently and carefully open it and pull it apart to find an abundance of seeds. Seeds to replant. Seeds to grow, tend and care for an abundance of new flowers🙏🏻🫶🏻🙌🏻
Despite all that appears to be lost in your beautiful bouquet. When the tops are cut. Set apart to dry. Carefully pulled apart. An opportunity to grow a garden full of flowers from one simple bouquet.
Dear friend. You do all the things so that others see your beauty on the outside. Your vase of water has run dry. You’re exhausted like a droopy flower with no life left to give. Pause. Step back. Take a new perspective. Maybe just maybe you need time to set yourself apart from all the activities. Time to slow down. Time to rest. You have a lot of life still in you. A hopeful future, despite what you’re feeling in this moment. Just because you can’t see beauty in it right in this moment, doesn’t mean God isn’t with you. Maybe God is saying I need time with you. Time to plant you like a seed again. Not just one seed. A promise for abundance. Time with you alone to tend to all the things so His goodness cares for you in all the ways we care for and marvel about flowers.
Psalm 116:5 Know His heart. He loves you and has gifts of affection and abundance and He’s working it all together. Trust in the process. Spend time with Him. I cannot say this enough. Set aside time. Remember self care isn’t just about facials, pedicures, massages, the gym & eating right. Self care is working on relationship with God. Jesus loves you! This I know ❤️
So
What appears to be a bouquet of dead flowers is truly a blessing of abundance of seeds.
You are loved
Deeply
He will never leave you
Matthew 24:35
