It's that time again.
We have some Dexter beef looking for a freezer to call home.
$4.75/lb hanging weight paid to us PLUS the cost of butcher/ processing paid directly to Specialized Deer Processing in St. Johns.
Butcher cost is $35/quarter & $0.90/lb for cut and wrap.
Pickup will be mid-July.

Discounts available on orders for halves or wholes.

One thing we take pride in is trying to utilize as much of an animal as possible. That includes bones, hides, etc.
We recently finished processing a batch of horned steer skulls and they're ready for new homes. Hang them on a wall. Paint or decorate them. Display them however you want.

Farm life has ups and downs. If you drive by, you'll likely hear Star calling for her baby. He did not survive after he took a quick turn downhill. It is a special kind of sad to see a momma cow mourning a baby. 💔

It's mud season. It's not our favorite, but we do our best. We love to give the cows special treats for enrichment- especially when they don't have as many foraging options.

We are thankful that The Market offers free produce locally. We are able to rescue things that humans don't want to eat and share them with the cows. Check with your local food banks and pantries to see if you're able to pickup anything your livestock might enjoy.

Pictured here is some of the herd enjoying some lettuce. Some looked great...and some was past saving so both humans and cows were able to enjoy. The babies were especially loving the lettuce snack ♡

Do you ever look at your animal and just appreciate all the details?
Star is an absolutely beautiful girl. She gets the best shaggy winter coat. Her eyelashes are so pretty. The feathering on her ears is so long and fluffy.
Start is a little shy. She does not trust many people and will only let one of us even touch her face a little. She's relaxed a lot since her arrival and we're thankful for that. We just wish she wanted to be brushed and pet and snuggled 😅
