The story of Bohemia Manor Farm unfolds over centuries, from Augustine Herman's arrival in the early days of Maryland as a Dutch settler to the present-day winery and resort under VIVAMEE Hospitality. The property's transformation from Augustine Herman's original 4,000-acre grant in 1662 to the present-day estate is marked by the construction of the original Manor House, the passing of ownership through various hands, and the eventual establishment of the vineyard in 2014. The current Manor House, built in 1920 by Senator Thomas Bayard and meticulously restored in 2005, stands as a testament to the estate's rich history and commitment to preserving its heritage. The Chateau Bu-De Winery & Vineyard, now Bohemia Manor Farm, has become a sought-after destination, welcoming over 30,000 visitors annually and boasting a thriving wine club with several hundred members. Bohemia Manor Farm is not just a winery; it is a picturesque venue overlooking the Bohemia River, offering a blend of historic charm and modern luxury. With a state-of-the-art production facility, a spacious tasting room with a ballroom, and a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces for entertainment, the estate promises an unforgettable experience for any occasion. The vineyard, with nearly 60,000 vines producing a range of high-quality grapes, has become a key element in the creation of award-winning wines. The open layout of the venue, framed by rolling vineyards and the scenic Bohemia River, provides a canvas for crafting unique and elegant events. As Bohemia Manor Farm enters its new chapter under Vivamee Hospitality, it continues to honor Augustine Herman's legacy and the centuries of history that have shaped this Maryland landmark. The farm invites visitors to experience the beauty of the estate, taste its exceptional wines, and create lasting memories against the backdrop of one of Maryland's premier wineries.
