An evening text from the neighbor said that it looked like there were bees that apparently decided the lumos box in the ground was a great place to start a hive. 🫠 Those Scout bees must not have been the brightest to come up with that decision. 😅 It worked out in our favor because it was 30 foot from our front door. TJ secured the queen after a few hours, we now have a second family of bees. We're so thankful!

We have some exciting news ( you can hear it in my voice 😅)! We caught a swarm! It's been about 2 weeks and they are thriving! We're over the moon excited!

We know we've been very quiet as of late. We needed time to process and regroup in all honesty. We suffered a huge loss at the end of fall. We lost our entire colony of bees. We had one tiny group left over that wouldn't have made it through Winter. We donated them to Norfolk Botanical Gardens in hopes that they would thrive. Devastated doesn't even begin to describe how we feel. We will be moving forward and looking ahead. We are actively hoping to catch a couple of swarms and start over. This means that there will be no honey harvest this year though. Our hearts are heavy. We will keep you all updated as things come along. Thank you for being on this journey with us.

Hi 4 Bee Fam. We know it's been a while. All is good at the apiary and we still have honey bears for sale for $12 a piece. Hope you all are doing fantastic!
