Not a good brew day. Fell off the stepstool during wort transfer and lost 5 gallons of wort, so only five were spared. Moving on. Whacked my head on the concrete floor to boot. Ouch. Will need to rebrew that other 5 gallons for Orktoberfest.

Woo-hoo! The results of the 1st Round of the National Homebrew Competition in Philadelphia are in and two of our beers are headed to the finals! Our Vaccinator Maibock won gold and our Ice Queen Eisbock took bronze, despite a lowered score resulting from a leaky bottle. Both of these beers were featured during our Founders Day event last Saturday---proof that we only serve our friends and neighbors the very best (and for free!).

We are pleased to announce that our Ice Queen Eisbock won a gold medal at this weekend’s Virginia Beer Blitz competition. It also won second place for Best In Show for the entire competition of more than 300 entries. This beer is only available in limited quantities, but will be available for tasting at our Founder’s Day event next month.
