All day long, this!!!

My advice to the young rider:

You don't train the horse. You train yourself, and the horse confirms it.

Every resistance, every tension, and every moment of "wow", is just the horse reporting back on the quality of your preparation.

The horse isn't the variable. You are.

That final kiss.

There is a moment
after everything is over
that stays with you forever.

It’s quiet in a way
that feels heavier than noise ever could.

You kneel down beside them-
the horse who carried you,
trusted you,
lived with you.

You press your face into theirs one last time.
You kiss the place you’ve kissed a thousand times before,
only now you know
this is the last.

Your hands shake
as you reach for the halter.

That simple motion-
sliding it gently off their face-
undoes you.

Because this is the moment
your body understands
what your heart has been trying to prepare for.

They don’t need it anymore.
They don’t need anything anymore.

You whisper thank you
for the years,
for the trust,
for the love that never asked to be easy.

You tell them they were good.
You tell them they were enough.
You tell them it’s okay.

And somehow,
even in the deepest grief,
there is peace.

Because loving a horse
also means loving them enough
to let them rest.

You don’t rush away.
You stay.
You touch them gently.
You honor the weight of what just happened.

That last time you remove the halter
isn’t just a goodbye-
it’s a promise kept.

A promise that you would show up
for every season of their life.
Even the hardest one.

And though your heart breaks open in that moment,
there is also something sacred there.

Because they left this world
held by love.
Surrounded by gratitude.
Carried to the end
by the very person they trusted most.

That final kiss,
that quiet goodbye,
that halter folded carefully in your hands-

those are the moments
you carry forever.

Not just as grief,
but as proof
that love stayed
until the very end.

🐴✨ When one of the world’s greatest athletes admits horseback riding is hard, we can’t help but smile.

Olympic gymnastics legend Simone Biles recently took a walk-trot lesson — and quickly discovered just how much balance, coordination, and grit it takes to ride. 💪

We love seeing top-level athletes step into our world and appreciate just how athletic our sport really is. Welcome to the barn life, Simone! 👏🐎
