Located just over 2 miles from our brewery is Hubbard Park, an expansive 1,800-acre municipal park in the Hanging Hills of the Metacomet Ridge in Meriden, featuring a dramatic trap rock mountain ridge overlooking the Quinnipiac River Valley.
Two of the peaks, South Mountain at 767 feet and East Peak at 976 feet, are located within the park. Atop the East Peak stands Castle Craig, a 32-foot-tall stone observation tower perched at 1,002 feet elevation, donated by industrialist Walter Hubbard and dedicated in October 1900, offering panoramic views stretching to New Haven and Long Island Sound.
A beautiful park to explore when visiting us at the brewery; we're fortunate to be surrounded by so many wonderful outdoor spaces here in Cheshire!
