Meet Buddy!
We rescued Buddy about 4 years ago, when he was 18 months old. He was surrendered (left at kennel) by his previous owners, as he needed two eye surgeries (he couldn’t see correctly and it made him insecure.) Adding to that, he was not adequately exercised for a dog his size and was slightly bull legged and had a torn ACL and shortly after we recovered one ACL, his other leg suffered torn ligament …
Needless to say, Buddy had a rough childhood but today he is seeing clearly, built up some muscle and is a loving and caring protector of his forever home on the farm and our two children whom he absolutely adores …
Buddy is part American bulldog, American Staffordshire Terrier and Boxer! He has the temperament of a bulldog but he is athletic like the terrier and boxer. We continue to build his confidence and work on his childhood insecurities but we would not have it different …this is our second rescue and both were initially challenging but consistent hardwork has blessed our family with unconditional loving “best friends!”
Rescuing isn’t for everyone but if you are looking for a dog there are so many different options of great breeds that were abandoned and just want to be part of a “pack”…if you have it in your heart! Rescue a dog or any animal …it’s a healthy and effective mental health management strategy!
