Sometimes life just really sucks. Lost a remarkable doe this week and I’ve been unable to process it. Anyone who has actually spent time to get to know me and speak to me about my herd has heard me complain about how much stress Pollyanna caused me and for that I’m sad. What I never told anyone was how much an honor it was to be her home. She loved me and was so difficult because of it. I doubt I’ll ever be honored with the presence of another animal like this again. I’ll miss her incredible love of fruit and all her insanely unique quirks. Cherish those moments. Rest in Beauty ~ GCH Showtime SO Pollyanna 1*M, (2023 ADGA National Champion Best Udder, LA FS 94 EEEE) and continue being your feisty self, I’d never want you to be any other way.

Despite the cold and rainy weather, I attended the NWODGA event on Saturday to showcase my Saanen juniors, as well as a junior Lamancha. I also brought one milker, Alder*Rose Nav Shahar, my favorite 2-year-old, who is a truly spectacular young doe that I'm particularly proud of. We earned a junior leg on Alder*Rose Nik Terrorist, maternal sister to Shahar. Additionally, we earned a junior leg on Alder*Rose Total Recall, littermate sister to our herd sire Alder*Rose Thunderstruck, available at Blue Mountain Genetics, both of whom are offspring of GCH Alder*Rose New Italian Rain 4*M, the 2025 ADGA National Champion and Best Udder, sired by ++*B Companeros Cascade. Thunderstruck's three daughters in the herd presented well, garnering four first-place wins. Alder*Rose Sholto Travato, daughter of our other Saanen herd sire *B Alder*Rose Sholto, was Reserve Junior GCH. The Lamancha Junior Yearling, Alder*Rose RDF Theophanie, won two first-place awards and, although still growing and slightly chubby, shows promise for the future. I would like to extend my gratitude to those who assisted, particularly Michelle, Tracey, Shaena, Lin and Jill.

Alder*Rose attended our first show of 2026 and it didn’t disappoint….

The 2026 Udder Spectacular in Monroe Washington is one of my favorite shows, over 400 animals were shown! Excellent judges, excellent competition, some of my favorite goat people, and beautiful flowers!

Brought 11 does; 9/11 won ribbons, 2 finished their championships, and 4 junior does earned their junior legs!
