We are sad to announce that Whole Foods is no longer supporting American family farms. They are shutting down the local product line across the US and will be buying meat products from a foreign owned company.
Since Amazon bought them out we were concerned about major changes. All about profits.
We support country of origin labeling and need to stop foreign buyouts of American businesses.
China mass produces pork in highrise hog farms and bring them into the US and process them and call them US products. Smithfield Foods is a 100% Chinese owned(WH Group)
We at Elmartin Farm will move from being a wholesaler for our pork products and transition to local retail pork. So if you are looking for quality pork products please reach out to us. Currently as we transition we will have halves and wholes on a small scale as we transition and hope to gain enough customers to advance to 80 to 100 hogs per year.
We were blindsided by the couple month notice from Whole Foods and would like to thank Mosner Family Brands for the relationship that we established over the last seven years.
Sad to say Big Y, Stop and Shop, Walmart and Market 32 all use Smithfield Foods. Corporate greed over American Values. Profits over support for struggling farmers.
Supporting Local Farms.
Thank you
