With a Fall Molt, egg production energy has been redirected to our flock regrowing feathers to prepare for Winter. I am amazed continually by the way God created these sweet birds as they instinctively maneuver through our changing Seasons!
We are getting at most 2 eggs a day, which has been consistent since late August šŸ˜­
We want to ensure that our eggs are the freshest gathered for you all to enjoy. With 1-2 a day it is taking too long to gather a surplus of even a dozen. We are sad to say this is an official ā€œend of the seasonā€ for J&H Family Farms.
Hopefully our girls will start laying again with a heat source in the Winter, so be watchful for spontaneous posts!
If not, we cannot wait to share our farm fresh eggs again with you all in the Spring!!!
