As for this pic - a little while ago. Never a good time when black bears smell honey. We’re hoping the electric fence keeps him out. I already chased him away once this evening.

Well, the good news is - the beehive is alive and well! Applied Oxalic Acid dribble today and one of the little buggers was not happy to see me. I stayed sting-free for about a year so I guess I was due.

Anyway - so happy they seem to be thriving.

Another 6 weeks or so and the colony will spring to life!

This is Fred. He is crafty. He almost never comes out during the day and rarely if ever, travels common runs. He’s my whitetail version of Jangles (those of you with kids, know and love this book). Our 3 year relationship continues to grow. I’m happy to see him on Trailcams - even if it’s under the cover of darkness. One day - our paths will cross.

Happy Sunday! Decided to do a little rod and reel maintenance this morning and could not resist one cast before heading back to the house. Glad I did.

Our pond continues to thrive. We see that all of the fish are reproducing on their own. This week we’ve seen channel catfish, largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie and even a monster snapping turtle (who thankfully managed his way off the hook just as he hit shore!
