🌻 A little behind-the-scenes from our flower fields...
If you've visited Spring Run Vineyards recently, you've probably noticed that the flowers are really starting to come alive. Some are already blooming beautifully, while others—especially the sunflowers—are getting ready to put on quite a show.
What many folks don't see is the work that goes into growing them. This spring has been incredibly dry, and because we don't have water out in the flower fields, Matt has spent countless hours hauling water, running generators, and caring for these plants one row at a time. He's truly a one-man flower crew while I spend most weekdays at my regular day job.
One thing we've learned over the years is that a lot of people still don't realize we're here. In fact, if I had a quarter for every time someone said, "I didn't know this place existed," I could probably build another barn! We even still hear from folks who think we closed when we announced the end of our winemaking operation a couple of years ago.
The truth is, we're still here, and we're working hard to make this little corner of Chesterfield a place where people can slow down, enjoy the outdoors, pick berries, listen to music, attend workshops, celebrate special occasions, sip wine, and now enjoy fresh-cut flowers grown right here on the farm.
