Today did not go as planned… many lessons learned for the kids. This is our second year in swine and making weight is always stressful. We knew one of the girls was on the high side and switched her to beet pulp… we likely gave her too much and she ended up 7 # over 😩 she was a good walker with a nice personality but unfortunately it’s a lot of work to keep them as pets so she went straight to the butcher 🥓 we were lucky enough to raise a back up pig who is very stubborn. While not ideal for showmanship, she’ll still give him an opportunity to participate. So if you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, come visit us in the swine barn.
