There’s something so special about going to Mimi’s house. ❤️

I hope my kids grow up knowing that Mimi’s house is more than just a place they visit. It’s part of their roots. It’s a place where they learn that life can be simple, that hard work matters, that animals deserve kindness, and that family is something you carry with you.

Because one day, they may not remember every toy they had or every place we took them—but I hope they remember Mimi’s house. The smell of the farm. The animals. The muddy boots. The laughter. The feeling of being surrounded by family.

Roots aren’t just where you come from. They’re the people, places, traditions, and memories that remind you who you are.

And I hope Mimi’s house will always be one of those places for them. ❤️🌿🐓

It’s been 5 years since I gave up my 14-year dental assisting career to homestead.

An old friend/dentist reached out in hopes that I could fill in at his practice for a month.

So, here I am!! Back in scrubs, back in public, and back in a routine. Do I hate it? NOPE!! Not for a second.

Though homesteading is rewarding in so many ways, dental assisting will always have my heart!

It felt amazing to get out of bed, shower, put on makeup, style my hair, throw on cute scrubs, and SLAY THE DAY! A typical day on the homestead consists of wearing old s**t clothes (literally), 3 days of unwashed hair, and animal hair in every or***ce of your body (IYKYK)! 😂

This week has reminded me that I am more than just a crazy chicken lady, crazy cat lady, and, well, just plain CRAZY!

It took me back to my youth, my foundation, my struggles, and my gains. That 14-year career built me. It was MINE through some of the toughest years of my life!

It was MY accomplishment, MY success, and my only sense of structure and stability.

Would I stay? Probably not….

The human interaction and making new friends? NEXT LEVEL amazing and so much more needed than I realized.

But I just needed a reminder of who I am and what I have, and that is exactly what I accomplished by taking this little opportunity.

Sometimes, we just need to step outside of the life we’ve built to remember the woman who built it. ❤️

Inside is finished with pine boards, fully wired with outlets, vinyl plank flooring and insulated!
