It is a sad day for me. Legendary actor/orator James Earl Jones past today.

He was the very first celebrity I met when I was assigned to my first duty station as a new probationary State Trooper, in Brewster NY.

Imagine sitting at the front desk answering phones, when you see a man on a motorcycle pull into the station parking lot, he unlatches the strap on his helmet, and as he walks toward the front door, I say to myself he looks like James Earl Jones, but of course, I'm in the middle of nowhere U.S.A.

When the door opens, low and behold its Mr. Jones. I turn around to my Sgt. Sgt Gadomski and said Sgt. it's James Earl Jones. Gadomski lowers his newspaper, looks over his glasses and said help the man.

I said Sir, how can I help you? At that moment his bravado spoke in that voice we all come to know. I've seemed to have lost my Motorcycle plate.
I was 21 years of age, yet that memory permeates my mindset

My Fourth of July wrap up in a bow Apple pies made Vanilla ice cream made. A 130lb whole hog smoked for 17 hours. Fire works show as a finale. Great neighborhood turn out

So we live in Central Florida and we learned that the Seminole Tribe grew a pumpkin native to Florida, it was so easy to grow, we ended up with quite a yield. We cooked the pumpkin and found it to be naturally sweet when roasted. I’m a pastry chef, naturally I’m gonna make it do what it does. Made a Seminole pumpkin pie and it was delish….
