Please feel free to check us out on Instagram & like our page to keep up with our chicky shenanigans!
Thanks for following our chicken journey .
We are a small homestead , my coop is a family farm original piece of the property. My grandparents raised there 5 kids here, in a 1 room house that was not much bigger than my entire living room, with a narrow staircase to a bedroom , where all 5 children shared. My dad was one of the 5 kids , he is a twin and they were the babies of the family.
In 2005 we tore down the old farm house and built a new home in its place. For many summers after building we would find marbles that would work theor way to the surface somehow after years lost to the dirt driveway.
To say it’s Home , is an understatement. It’s the only thing I’ve ever known. We are lucky to live near family, Raising our children near their grandparents was a true blessing.
In 2020 during Covid times ,we bought chickens and ducks and renovated the old coop back into something that could work for a coop .
Since then I’ve added chandeliers , artwork, and decor . Why should our coop be boring ?
The ladies feed us well and I so enjoy my interactions with them each morning and evening . Through the years we have had laying hens, roosters , ducks as far as birds go.
We breed Bullmastiffs so no need for cows , they’re just as big ! 😂
