The girls decided they wanted to make the last few days just a little more interesting 🙂.
Bella was holding out so when I left I knew she’d calf while I was gone 🤦‍♀️
Lo and behold I checked cameras Wednesday late and she was in labor. Poor Ty had to go up for my checks and she had her early Thursday morning! Blossom is a sweet girl and so very curious.
Then we went to the zoo after I got home Saturday morning and when we got home Padme (who had been showing no signs) said “SURPRISE” and brought little Chewbacca in to the world. He’s so social and just the cutest little red guy. Padme is a first time mom and doing great with him!
Never a dull moment in farm life and feeling so blessed everyone is out and healthy.
One to go!

Today was move up day!
They seem quite happy with their expanded digs. We never cease to be amazed at how quickly the fluff balls grow.

The chicks and youngest duckling (he’s just too tiny to be others yet. Lol) got their upgrade today as well and seem quite pleased.

Oh the adventures 😋

Sooooo….Meet Rocco!!! This handsome little bull calf came to meet us Friday morning and Miss Rosie did an amazing job. She’s a great momma and you have to be cautious so she doesn’t crush you 🤣
He’s starting to straighten out and even frolic some ❤️
The adventure continues

New adventures are beginning at Grace ‘n Grit. The dogs are rolling with it all and aren’t too concerned about the new odd critters and Faith has zero interest.
Meet the herd ❤️ Socializing and handling is off to a great start. It’ll still be a bit of time but cattle cubes are winning them over.

Incredible November Day!!! Cows arrived and tons of outside chores done.So greatful for today!

Sorry we haven’t posted in so long. It’s been a hectic summer and lots of moving parts, continued fencing and cleanup, and ever changing critter shenanigans. Now the final winter prep.
Our brand finally got approved and I’ll post it soon (had to modify ita bit) and the girls continue to lay beautiful eggs (duck are done for the season).
Jozy won grand champion duck at fair and one of her girls (Luna) decided she was determined to hatch eggs but wasn’t successful so we were lucky enough to find ducklings a few days old and she’s the happiest duck I’ve ever seen. Still monitoring interactions with the rest of the flock but they’ve enjoyed some nice out time and exploration.
Now winter begins 😬🥶🥶🥶t

Sadly (but necessary) our kids had to learn more about endinga and beginnings in life on a farm.
Petunia was very very loved on our farm by the whole family. She was as an amazing protector and one we’d raised since a young gosling. We tried nursing her past her illness but she sadly succumbed to the illness. We had a funeral and Landyn still struggles and tells us daily he didn’t want her to leave.
Then the next day they got to witness two of our ducklings hatch in the incubator and that lightened their hearts a bit.
From life isn’t for the faint of heart but we make sure our animals know they’re loved whatever time we have them, long or short.
