Baby piglets are definitely starting to play with their food!

The fodder has been a wonderful addition to our pigs’ daily routine at Tuckley Ranch. Both our mama sows and finishing pigs get a fresh bucket of sprouted wheat grass each morning.
Our Idaho Pasture Pigs are excellent foragers and grazers—they go ham on it every day! They love it.
The high omega-3 content helps the sows produce richer, healthier milk for their 10 piglets, while helping the feeder pigs put on great fat for plenty of tasty bacon come processing day.

Part of what got me into this whole farming things was wanting to find a place I could vote with my dollar to buy better chicken. I had learned about how 99.99% of all the chicken I had eaten in my life was actually raised. And I couldn’t find any place to buy it. Sure some chicken I could buy was auger fed organic feed with less chemicals on it. Some where “ free range” where they leave “outdoor access” but none where outside scratching and eating grass. So I just decided to grow it myself. If I could raise enough for my family and cover some cost by selling to some friends. Everyone said it was the best chicken they had, so the next season we scaled up and sold every chicken we raised. We realized that there is a desire out there for REAL food m, raised in a way that respects the animals and builds a healthy ecosystem!

I will never be able to grow enough food to supply all of Cheyenne but that is not my goals. My goal is to provide real food to 40 families that care about what goes into their food

Clair, our grass puppy, just had her calf naturally this morning. No help, no drugs, no complications — done in under an hour. She licked him clean while chickens scratched around. Watching him learn to stand for the first time and watching Miss Clair guiding the little one to nurse, there is just something naturally beautiful of watching this new life coming in with gental guidance from a fabulous mother

I read once about industrial geneticists cheering when a cow birthed and just walked away. They bred out maternal instinct for efficiency. Calf get pulled and raised in sheds be fed corn, soy and seed oils in the form of milk replacer

Here this little one will live under hoof with mom drinking the milk nature intended. This brings its own complications and less profits but it honers nature and the animals. I am just blessed to be a part of it!

Thank you Blue Raven Brewery!! Your brewers grains are the perfect food for our piglets to start exploring. When we get them they are still warm and they were very curious of the new smells and started investigating them. The soaked them fermented grains are a perfect breakfast porege

You can also tell it is clearly mother approved!!!

We appreciate our partnership with you, it’s because of these partnerships with local businesses our animals are so spoiled!🥰

Free 2 dozen eggs for who ever can name every fruit and vegetables! And bonus points if you can name all the types of poultry!

Literally over 99% or all chickens live in a Tyson style chicken wear-house where they are viewed as a great way to turn gmo corn and soy into higher value product like chicken and eggs. NOT HERE!

Our farm is an omnivores paradise! We are not just talking about our table scraps or even farm excess. we bring in hundreds if not thousands of pounds of fruits and vegetables every week. This makes up about 60% of our chickens diet and probably 70% of the pigs diet The same exact variety that your doctor told you that you need to eat more of.

This is what we mean when we say nutrient dense food. The amount and variety of nutrients in this vs gmo corn and soy is drastically different. And you are what you eat, but also what your food ate. And by that logic the vast majority of modern Americans are gmo corn and soy.

If you want to taste the difference let us know we have farm shares available now! Comment “Tell me more!” And we will text you with more information!

I want to be your farmer!

Not some big company. Me. Right here on Tuckley Ranch, raising real food the right way — rotational grazing, multi-species, soil that gets stronger every season though truely regenerative practices. Chickens on pasture eating grass and bug, cows moving like they should, pigs rooting and wallowing. Everything feeling the neigh in the eco system like it should, without any chemicals or fertilizer.

This summer I’m committing to 40 Cheyenne families. 20 weeks of pasture-raised chicken, milk, and eggs from June to October. Grass fed Beef and poduse fed hog add-ons too. Monday pickups in town. Down payment now helps us plan and grow what you need.
We’re keeping it local. Building soil, respecting animals, delivering nutrient-dense food you can trust for your family. Money stays in our community.
Spots are limited. This is for families tired of wondering what’s in their grocery store food.
Who’s ready to know exactly where their food comes from? Comment “I’m in” or message me.

Running a farm and raising our own food is a fun experience and we put a lot of pride in it! There are no words to explain the pride you feel when your dinner and dessert is provided mostly by your farm! By the animals that you've put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into! We know that the animals that provided this meal for us not only are fed the best possible diet that's appropriate for their species, but that they were happy, well cared for and only had one bad day💚

Peaches and Pork Chops (from our pasture raised pork) with pickled onions from a local individual.
And Crème Brûlée that our volunteer farm hand made from scratch, made with our cream and our eggs🤤

Definitely can't wait to try this recipe again with Palisade Peaches this summer! 🤤🤤

It's National Purebred Dog day and we thought we'd use it as an opportunity to highlight one of our favorite purebreds on the farm! 🥰

Chidi Dog! 🥰

Chidi is an Anatolian Shepherd from Wanyama Ranch and was bred for the sole purpose of being a working dog! While he's had his hurdles, he's been an excellent addition to our little farm and has more than once chased off a coyote! His big derpy personality matches Farmer Chris' and they both enjoy romping the farm doing chores!

This video is Chris giving Chidi the biggest pets and praise ever because he chased off a coyote just moments before! 🥳🥰 Bonus, and helps loosen up all that loose fur he's blowing 🤣
