What a way to start 2026!! 🙆🏿‍♂️

Yesterday, we were awarded the Community Development Grant from the City of Chicago Dept. of planning & development valued at $3.7M to support development of our brewery, distribution and taproom facility ($7.4M) ! 🥹

This is an amazing step-forward for Funkytown, and we couldn't be more grateful that the city of Chicago believes in our project for its local community and cultural impact, employment and education opportunities, and ambition to take part in the revitalization of the west-side of Chicago! 🙏🏿

We couldn't thank you -the community anymore for hanging in there with us! Your support, sharing, and praise of our efforts at Funkytown pushed our application over the top! 🖤

So many thoughts come to mind to share about the process, experience and successes. We'll expand on those feelings in some future posts.

2026 will be a transformational year!! Cheers! 🍻

⚫Brewing the very first 10bbl production batch of Hip-Hops and R&Brew at
⚪Learning that file type .ai is Adobe illustrator and we need to figure out how to make a label for our flagship in 3 weeks!
🟠 wasn't playing with us...mask on 😷 !
🟢Unaware that our lives would never be the same after our beer is officially launched to the public!

How would people react to our beer? We already knew we had a banger, and we made the decision that this would be our flagship. Did we make the right choice?

1200bbls later....Hell yeah! to your vision!

April 2021 Brewing at

-Brewing our American Pale Ale for the hundredth time trying to create that perfect balance for the beer newbies⚖️
-One year into the pandemic & remote work and i've probably had a total of 2 haircuts ()
-Homebrewing always meant bring out the , durable and still fresh when we're cooking up🔥 👩🏿‍🍳👟

Times have changed!

-That American Pale Ale became our flagship "Hip-Hops and R&Brew" and has won numerous awards🍻
-Haircuts are back on schedule💈
-Foamposites got played out for a little bit,but we're bringing them back out cause we're and don't care🤷🏿‍♂️

Excited to share that our CEO Richard Bloomfield will be speaking at the inaugural Dope Thinkers Only Conference at Grambling State University! Our alma mater! Looking forward to engaging with the next generation of leaders. The diverse backgrounds and experiences of the conference speakers truly exemplify what it means to be a "dope thinker."

A special shout-out to Nicholas Love, Kulur Group , Grambling State, and HumanUptions for pouring back into the students. The dynamic, accomplished speakers are set to offer valuable insights, guidance, and inspiration to help students define and walk their own unique paths as .
