OYSTERS OF THE OYSTER SOCIAL 🦪
PART ONE

Yes, the Oyster Social is about having fun, being together, and celebrating community, but the oysters will always be the heart of it.

I love oysters because they can be so simple and still leave so much room for creativity. Give the same oyster to ten different chefs and you’ll get ten completely different stories.

That is what I wanted people to experience.
Oysters from different points of view, shaped by the cultures, neighborhoods, memories, and flavor profiles that make Chicago one of the greatest food cities in the world.

Raw, cooked, smoked, spicy, bright, rich, and sometimes completely unexpected. Every chef brought a piece of themselves to the shell, and that is the true meaning of Chicago style.

This post is for the food.
The creativity.
The details.
And, of course, the beautiful oysters themselves.

The Oyster Social has always been about more than oysters.

It’s about bringing people together, eating something incredible, dancing, laughing and celebrating the people who make Chicago feel like Chicago.

And this year, the entertainment was EVERYTHING.

• absolutely stopped the party with one of the most stunning fire performances I’ve ever seen. Watching her light up The Oyster Social was unreal.

• Trois Shavers, the official DJ of The Oyster Social. Trois has been setting the soundtrack for this thing year after year, and at this point I genuinely can’t imagine the Social without him.

• LITE “EL ROMPE DISCOTEKA” came through repping Chicago while bringing the sounds and energy of Puerto Rico into the mix 🇵🇷. Exactly the kind of energy I wanted moving through the party.

• Jono Giralt created the perfect Oyster Social tattoo flash sheet and spent the evening permanently marking some of you 😂. If you got tattooed, PLEASE tag me. I want to see them.

• And last but definitely not least, Josh Young. Josh Young, formerly one half of Chicago’s own Flosstradamus, has traded touring for the yoga mat and Yoga Party. He stepped out of DJ retirement to play The Oyster Social, and having him there truly meant the world to me.

We danced. We ate. We drank. We got tattoos. There was fire.

And we had an absolute blast.

Thank you to every single person who helped make The Oyster Social feel like a PARTY. ❤️🦪

The Oyster Social is nothing without the incredible chefs and restaurants who show up and feed the people.

Every year, I invite some of my favorite kitchens in Chicago to take something as simple and complex as an oyster and make it completely their own. The talent, creativity and generosity they bring to this event is what makes The Oyster Social what it is.
