We’re thrilled to be participating again this year in for the month of September to fundraise for the Greater Chicago Food Depository!

We will be donating $7 from each 86Hunger cheese board sold to the Food Depository to ensure that our neighbors across Chicago receive the food they need! The Greater Chicago Food Depository works tirelessly to eliminate hunger in the city of Chicago, distributing 101.4 million meals in 2024!

We’ve curated a special crowd favorite 5-cheese board featuring Blakesville Creamery Chèvre, Marieke Gouda Mature Gouda, Zamorano, Le Gruyère AOP, and Milton Creamery Prairie Breeze with house-made jams.
Available the entire month of September - dine-in, pickup & delivery!

This crisp and delicious grüner from Kelley Fox in Willamette Valley, Oregon is described by the w**e maker as evoking “the golden splendor of an alpine summer”. With a key lime brightness and a slight white peppery flavor, we would recommend picking up some fresh chevre from Blakesville Creamery or Cumberland from Sequatchie Cove Creamery to enjoy alongside it.

Lughnasadh, the Gaelic celebration marking the start of harvest season, is the perfect time to feature some incredible local makers alongside our own food & drink specials inspired by the cheeses, fruits & grains of the season. 🍇🍑🌾

Arrive early to grab a spot in line for a tyromancy or tarot reading, permanent jewelry application & bring your copy of Cheese Magic to have it signed (or purchase one on site!)

Please note, normal dine-in and reservations will not be available during market hours. Reservations & walk-in seating will resume from 5-8pm & we will be closing a little early at 9pm.

le 14 juillet marks 237 years since the storming of the Bastille, a major turning point of the French Revolution.

Bastille (bah-STEE) Day, as it is more commonly known in English-speaking countries, is a day celebrated not only in France but around the world through parades, dancing, and most importantly to us - feasting on cheese! It is a time to celebrate French food, French music, theatre, sports, w**e & more.

We will be celebrating with multiple classes throughout the month of July featuring some of our favorite French producers. We’ll be ending the month with a 3-day $5 triple creme brûlée special for dine-in only (we needed more than one day to celebrate creme brûlée).

If you can’t make it to one of these events, we’ve always got plenty of French-produced cheeses & w**es in our retail space! 🇫🇷

We are thrilled to announce that our Head of Education, Anna, brought home a 3rd place win at this year’s The Cheesemonger Invitational last weekend in NYC! 46 of the best cheesemongers from the US, Canada & Belgium competed in what our industry calls the “Cheesemonger Olympics” with challenges like a written test, blind tasting, cutting perfect weights of cheese & assembling the perfect beverage, plate, and bites for the judges!

As a first-time competitor, making the finals is a huge achievement and we couldn’t be more proud!

Make sure to say hi to Anna next week at ACS in Louisville & keep an eye out for those lucky red boots!

A huge congrats to the other mongers who competed, especially Anna Anel, ACS CCP from The Curd Nerd who placed 2nd & Hanna Lee from The Mouse Hole Cheese Shop who took home the trophy with an incredible lead!
