Today we hosted a field trip for Doug and Mikey’s team members from GADOL, Keshet Disabilities & Inclusion Day Program. Doug and Mikey, who work in our Coffee Packing department and are both GADOL participants, had the opportunity to discuss their jobs and demonstrate what having employment looks like. They were so proud to introduce their peers and staff to their co-workers. CBC was honored to host GADOL, and to participate in their efforts to provide vocational training - and employment - for their participants.
Having the opportunity to employ individuals of all abilities is not only our privilege as an employer… it’s our responsibility.

Doug and Mike work in CBC’s Coffee Packing department, and today we had our first field trip (post Covid). Their jobs include packing coffee for many of our customers, including Beatrix, so today’s customer visit was extra special. Doug and Mike (along with their supervisor, Dana) had the opportunity to engage with a VIP customer and make the connection to the work they are doing. When they saw “our coffee” in the cafe, it was a full circle moment! Thank you to our friends at Beatrix Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants for our VIP treatment today!
