🍺 New Beer Release: 𝗛𝗲𝗳𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗻!

Yup. Just a classic German Hefe right in time for summer. 🌞

No frills, no poetic sentence for a name, and no wackadoo adjuncts. (We'll announce a new bevvy with all of these soon 😉)

Our Hefe pours a cloudy, golden complexion with a luscious, dense head from the major supply of foam positive proteins found in wheat. 👑

This light-bodied bevvy delicately emits tangy banana and a touch of clove spice; a harmoniously thirst-quenching duo imparted from the expressive yeast strain.

😛 Tasting Notes | 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗮 🍯🐝

Our pal recently gave us some frou-frou tasting notes (ala slide #2) and we figured we'd pop in with our thoughts on this Biere de Miel brewed with raw Illinois Orange Blossom Honey from & Honeysuckle Petals:

👀 | Mostly clear, with a slight haze that traps in sunlight, creating a luminous chalice somewhere between burnished copper and a freshly cast golden ingot.

👃 | Candied mandarin citrus, rich jasmine, and a hint of vanilla invade the aromasphere. Hell, maybe even a waft of geraniums. No doubt from the heavy dose of Honeysuckle petals steeped in the whirlpool.

👄 | The Orange Blossom Honey takes center stage with heavy waves of butterscotch & vanilla, with hints of orange zest in the finish. It's wild how much of the original honey character translates into the finished product.

👅 | A lighter carbonation keeps Tears of Ra soft on the tongue; portraying slightly more body and a fuller mouthfeel.

𝙊𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙖 𝙛𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙥𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙪𝙩𝙚.

Odious Lore | The Gilded River: 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘙𝘢

A wide but shallow waterway abutting a center of commerce, the Gilded River is so named for the coins, valuables, and treasures which litter the riverbed just below the bows of the many passing vessels. Local legend has it that Ra, gatekeeper between this world and the next, lives beneath the river and requires tribute for safe passage; the true deity that resides below the hulls is much older than that.

Tears of Ra recalls a traveler upon the Gilded River who, thinking himself clever, dared to attempt the crossing without a single in his purse. As he rowed across the water, he vowed to the river that the boat immediately behind his own would be carrying his tribute, and their offering would necessarily be double.

The god beneath the waves soon sorted out the traveler's mischief, but at the expense of both the boats and all their passengers contained within. Very few have attempted this gambit since.

🍯 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗮 returns!!!

Our rendition of a Biere de Miel (Beer w/ honey), jam packed with enough oozy honeycomb goodness to make Winnie the Pooh blush.

We credit the alluring citrus character to Orange Blossom honey, locally sourced from none other than . Sweet and floral with a distinct citrus orange tinge, as its name suggests.

A sip of this sunshine soaked bevvy will take your imagination to a fertile grove, where noble bees collected nectar and pollen from various orange tree flowers. Thanks, bumble-dudes. 🐝

Last year when we released 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗮, it brought us home a trophy for "Classic Beer Style" at the Hazy Days of Summer fest put on by . So we got that goin' for us. 🏆

Odious Lore | Ode to Whimsy

To the far north lies the Forest of Whimsy, a dense and unnavigable wilderness made all the more inhospitable by being home to a wide variety of faeries happy to use their enchantments to remain otherwise undisturbed.

So jealously do they guard their peace that we know of only one instance of their being successfully defied.

A troop of forest sprites from the eastern hinterland found themselves in the Forest of Whimsy and set to, as sprites are wont, an evening revelry. The music and dancing quickly gained the attention of the fae folk who placed a simple curse on the instruments in order to stop the noise and chase the revelers away.

The sprites, not to be outdone, enchanted the very woods around them, the trees and stones and the living soil, all of which leapt into song, picking up the same tune just where it had left off.

The faeries were bested by their own prized forest.

🍄 Fresh 𝗢𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗺𝘀𝘆 emerges!

Our rendition of a Belgian White is positively crooning with juicy mandarin & tangy lemon zest, which harmonizes marvelously with freshly ground Indian coriander. 🍊💘🍋

🌾 A hefty dose of white, red, and raw wheat produces a pillowy mouthfeel and an illustrious foam crown to match, providing a launching pad of citrus expression.

This radiant liquid sunshine embodies spring itself. 🌞

Brewed with Brettanomyces TYB184 from , 𝗢𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗺𝘀𝘆's fermentation profile conveys a citric acidic-like zing and an ester profile of yellow fruits, accentuating this opus of citrus.

🍁👁🥞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐫𝐢𝐬 - Tasting Notes

Our pals over at describe their maple syrup as "Pure amber deliciousness with notes of butterscotch and vanilla."

Yup. Big time.

🧇 Freshly tapped Wisconsin maple syrup vaults from glass to schnoz in a divine gust of luscious caramel and rich vanilla. We dosed in a subtle blend of spices, primarily toasted fenugreek seeds, giving 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐫𝐢𝐬 a warm inviting nutty profile aligned with a touch of caramel malt.

Fun fact: Fenugreek seeds contains an extremely potent aromatic compound called solotone Also present in aged rum, molasses and you guessed it, maple syrup, boosting that sweet breakfast aroma we all know and love.

While initially sumptuous, 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐫𝐢𝐬 finishes plenty dry, begging for another siparoo.
A thick and gooey pastry beer this AIN'T. 🚫

Odious Lore | The Gilded River: 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘐𝘳𝘪𝘴

None dare dip a hand into the river to grasp at the vast wealth, despite its being easily within arm’s reach: greedy and dishonest travelers must be content merely to vow to the river that their tribute will be paid by the hapless boat immediately following their own.

Tears of Ra recalls just such a gambit as the deity below the golden riverbed reaches for its coin.

Into the Iris refers to a much bleaker tale. During the great Miasma, widespread poverty and hardship reduced travelers to paying tribute with paltry copper coins, old rusted heirlooms, and — eventually, consequentially — their very lives, turning the usually golden-colored riverbed a redder, grimmer hue.

New Beer Release: 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗿𝗶𝘀 🍁👁🥞

This Biere de Maple is...well, just that. A beer showcasing Dark Amber Maple Syrup from .

We also added some subtle spices including toasted fenugreek seeds, which embolden the sweet and nutty maple aromatics; akin to toffee and of course, a stack of flapjacks.

Don't let the syrupy aroma fool ya, this light-bodied bevvy finishes bone dry while retaining all of sweet maple flavor and aroma.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗿𝗶𝘀 hits the shelves this week!
