Fatina Wilson, Executive Chef/Owner of Exquisite Private Dining & Desserts, is a young minority chef exploring the worlds of culinary arts through the eyes beyond soul food. Chef Fatina graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA with a BA Degree in Business Administration and Marketing. After many years within the for profit education sector, Chef Fatina decided to explore her passion for cook
ing. For the past 8 years, Chef has been changing her family’s Christmas meals from the traditional soul food to exploring the dishes from different cultures around the world. In 2011, Chef Fatina began to cater private intimate dinners for couples, anniversaries, and birthdays. Her goal is to have her clients experience fine dining right within the comfort of their homes. As Chef Fatina’s career grew, she decided to complete 4 mini courses of Wilton’s Cake Decorating and holds certificates of completion ranging from Basic Buttercream Skills to Advanced Gumpaste and Fondant Flowers. With these new skills underneath her belt, Chef Fatina has marked a name for herself in delivering custom cakes for all occasions. Some of Chef Fatina's works includes volunteering at the James Beard Awards where she had the opportunity to assist a James Beard nominee in preparing and serving his dish at the reception following the ceremony; the privilege in presenting Secretary of State Jesse White with a special birthday cake at his surprise birthday party and Jesse White Tumblers Reunion; attended the NRA (National Restaurant Associations); and volunteering at the Chicago Gourmet 2016 in assisting some well known Chefs from Mexico and Chicago.
