The recent opening of Call Your Mother deli in Wicker Park has reignited an intense, if perennial, conversation about the neighborhood's character.

Honored to be pouring at the Firestone Walker International Beer Festival this weekend in Paso Robles, California.

The final photo features our award-winning brewer, Anthony Haynes, alongside Alison and Matt Brynildson. Anthony recently earned World Beer Cup gold for our Dark & Curvy Dunkelweizen. Matt helped shape our brewery and remains one of the most influential figures in modern American brewing.

Our history in the bagel business dates back to 1983 when my brothers Andy, Pete, Steve and I moved to Chicago from our hometown of New Haven, Connecticut, to bring our authentic New York bagels. Chicago needed them. We built Jacobs Bros. Bagels, Chicago’s premier bagel bakery chain.

The Piece Pizza Bagel has launched !

Brobagel, which is owned and operated by Piece, starts with its signature kettle-boiled, crunchy-on-the-outside, chewy-on-the-inside bagels, tops it with Piece’s tangy New Haven tomato sauce, mozzarella, and finish it in our broiler to bubbly cheesy perfection. Add Cup & Char pepperoni for $1..

Dark n Curvy Dunkelweizen just took home GOLD at the World Beer Cup! 🥇🥇🥇

Huge congratulations to Anthony and Keil — award-winning brewers and even better people. We couldn’t be prouder of you both.

We also raise a glass to the memory of Jonathan Cutler, who created this recipe and earned two medals with it. This one’s for you.

This is what happened when the dreamed of being a pizza:

Charred Polish sausage—charred on the Wiener Circle grill—tangy red sauce, topped with mozzarella, grated aged Pecorino, grilled onions, finished with chopped sport peppers on our New Haven crust.
