Words cannot explain the amount of gratitude I have at this moment for everyone that made this first farm to table dinner a total success.

From our friends-volunteers who spent their morning helping us have the farm ready, Chef Ernesto’s hard work in his kitchen to make sure we all had an amazing dinner and for everyone that bought a ticket for the biggest dinner we have ever had!
Thank you for making that happen 🙏🏾🙇🏽‍♀️

This is only the first one out of eight that are currently in our calendar. Tickets for our June 28th dinner with Kaya girl go on sale tomorrow!

Happy birthday Yari 🎂✨

Last Sunday’s volunteer day started with rain but that did not kept us from working.

We weeded the hoop house and then it got pretty toasty in the hoop house and we started extending the irrigation drip line, transplanted some starts, Luis and did beekeeping and we all had lots of fun!

Much gratitude for all the support we get from everyone 🙏🏾💚🌱🤍🌱💚

Mosquito control can feel urgent, especially when bites start adding up. But broad spraying often reaches far beyond mosquitoes, affecting pollinators like Bees, Butterflies, and even helpful species like Ladybugs. These insects play a direct role in keeping plants, gardens, and food systems alive, so when they’re lost, the effects ripple outward in ways that aren’t always immediately visible.

Many of these species are not the target, yet they are still exposed when broad-spectrum pesticides are used. A single spray can impact thousands of insects that help maintain balance in local ecosystems. What might begin as a solution to one problem can unintentionally create others, especially when it disrupts pollination and natural pest control systems already in place.

There are ways to reduce mosquito exposure while still protecting the environment. Removing standing water where mosquitoes breed, using fans in outdoor spaces, planting natural repellents, and encouraging predators like birds or bats can all help reduce their presence. Targeted approaches can also be more precise, focusing on mosquitoes without affecting everything else. Take a moment to consider how small choices in your space can protect both your comfort and the life that surrounds it.

Ending the day with a heart full of gratitude for the help I got today on this first harvest day and also being May Day.

Our gorilla cart was built, and a swing for the kiddos, some weeding was done, tomatoes were watered, and lots of washing in the cold 🥶 wash pack area. 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍

We got to harvest arugula, spinach and leeks for tomorrow’s market 9-1 🌱🥗

We ended the day with a bonfire, eating smores and talking about Restorative Economy with
