A Boulevard Café is the development of a series of Cafés along the Boulevard System of Chicago. The Boulevard System of Chicago has its roots in 1837, when the newly incorporated city adopted as its motto "Urbs in Horto", which means "city in a garden." The Boulevard System bordered the city limits of the time and provided much needed public space, parks and plazas. Renovated in recent years the B
oulevard System and its Parks provides communities with green public space, recreational areas and special event venues for local residents and is an integral part of the City of Chicago. The overall concept is to develop Cafés with a flavor and ambiance unique to the local community and to each park along the Boulevard System. Each Café will be located on a corner of a park along the Boulevard or in the park itself where permitted. Each Café will educate its guest by depicting history through its space and by representing a healthier eating option through its products and services. Internship opportunities and training programs will also be provided to the local communities. History, health, internships and trainings raise awareness, knowledge and experience. An educated population is an actively participating population. Active participation – brings harmony to the communities, to the city and ultimate to the planet we live on. History of Chicago, the boulevard system, and the life, history and legacy of the illustrious leader each park was named after will be represented through interior and exterior of the café establishment. Did you know, Chicago is one of the highest rated obese cities? A healthy eating lifestyle brings harmony to our body and life which is why a variety of fresh healthy choices and succulent items, specialty pastries and deserts from the ethnic heritage and local cultural backgrounds representing the local community will be apart of the menus. To serve our communities we will offer Internships in culinary arts, management, and marketing to students and local schools. Also we will provide Healthy eating lifestyle training to locals through cooking classes, and seminars. A Boulevard Café brings together the assets of the local communities, the history of the environment, the purpose, form and meaning of Chicago Parks; the legacy of leader the park is named after, and the reality of the present health trend to create an harmonist experience in its space and through its products and services for the local community, businesses, and Chicago Tourism.
