How does one really start this post? After four years of memories, relationships, and countless pints while we solve our worldly problems, it is time to close this chapter… We will be closing the brewery and taproom by summer’s end. We’ll keep the lights on as long as we have beer to serve, but this will be final summer season.
Four years ago, we started the brewery with a dream to bring good beer to a great neighborhood. Over the course of pursuing this dream, we formed what will ultimately prove to be lifelong friendships and business partners. We had the privilege of sharing our neighbors’ most intimate moments, whether it was celebrating the birth of a child, another trip around the sun, or reflecting on their loved one’s life after their passing. It has been our community that has kept us going for as long as we could.
Our connection to our community is a reflection to the dedication and commitment from our past and current employees. It’s their spirit that made us human, and the foundation of our relationships with our customers. Our staff has laughed at your terrible jokes, listened to the same story for the third time, or answered the same question six times, but at the end of the day, they will do it again with a smile.
Thank you to all those who have been with us: Aaron, Ben, Marcy, Erin, John, Chad, George, Jeff, Daniel, Kacie Marie, Kevin, Caroline, Austin, Anna, Evan, Eric, Julia, Grady, and Paige. We couldn’t have done this without you. We know there were to-do lists left undone, family events missed, and times of financial struggle along the way. Thank you for allowing your significant others to be a part of us.
There are two main reasons to open a brewery: You’re an idiot and hate money. Kidding. We opened to offer beer that we could share with the public and make money in the process. Unfortunately, these two missions are challenged by a hundred reasons why you shouldn’t do it. The natural question that comes to mind is, why are we closing? Well, the answer is simple: we didn’t sell enough beer to cover our expenses. Sure, there are probably a hundred factors that come into play, but at the end of the day, the answer remains just as simple.
If you’ve purchased our cans or ordered a pint, you’ve done your part, and we thank you for your trust and willingness to share your hard-earned money with us. So, before we get all teary-eyed, let’s finish strong!
Thank you,
James, Julie, Caroline, Ray, & Andy
