While one institution is breaking all the rules about bees, another organization is celebrating them. As an official vendor of the we are proud to help promote and celebrate all bees and pollinators on the 19 acre campus in Chicago. With the help of my Spokesperson and Program Manager along with the Head Groundskeeper and my "intern" on site, we are helping to create an oasis on the Southside for all pollinators to thrive. With hummingbirds, bumblebees, ladybugs, praying mantis, dragonflies and even a coyote already finding a home. Lisa and I have the same vision for the site and we have discussed BIG plans for mother nature to thrive!
Pictured is one of 3 hives that will be on campus in the coming years. I would not be here if it wasn't for a village of people to make this happen, and not all were Beekeepers but lovers of nature. The honeybee brings people together, and then we can pass along our knowledge of other pollinators. I've been told the children have gotten extremely excited when they see the hive and have a ton of questions. I am so excited that this project is already getting a "buzz".
As an official vendor of the and a steward to all bees and pollinators, we will always support the promotion of all pollinators, big and small, known and unknown, blue or red. I am here to teach but also learn, and we will continue to do so as long as I am able. Thanks for listening.

Happy World Bee Day! Check out this installation at the Obama Presidential Library when it opens Juneteenth weekend. In 2016, Researcher Julio Genaro discovered the Antillean Bee , and named it after President Obama for his commitment to environmental conservation. ‘Lassioglossom Obami’ 🐝

I was honored to attend an event sponsored by my cousin at Englewood High School yesterday. The family was in attendance and, of course, so were honey sticks. The event kicks off a week-long countdown to the historic first HBCU baseball game at Wrigley Field on May 2nd (tickets still available). Congratulations to him and I wish him great success.

This was not just about fun but business as well. I have found a new supplier for my body cream and soap and of course it's family. We are going to have our own signature scent, with products for men as well. I will keep everyone posted!

Another day, another Bee Workshop!
Today I had the opportunity to speak to the first of three cohorts this year. It was all adults this time but they were no less an enthusiastic crowd. No technical difficulties today, however the weather did play a factor (had to move to the hoop house). The location was farm(new spot for me) and lead by , who is part of headed up by my boy . We talked about Honeybees but also the importance of Native bees as well. This is my second workshop with them with two more this year.

Today was a good day!

I had the opportunity to speak at Ancona School in Hyde Park. The audience consisted of 30 kids, ages 5-8 and they were well prepared and had an abundance of knowledge about bees.
Normally I just do a PP and call it a day, however due to technical difficulties I had to wing it. It became a completely interactive experience and I'm glad it was. The kids were engaged and open to the experience, the best part was a couple of kids got into my suit and it was the cutest thing, especially the 5 yo. Everyone got to walk away with a honey stick which ended the show. But shout out to Chris Weber and Marsha

These may look like an ordinary bee box, however it will have a place of honor very soon. They are being built by my guy Rudy Taylor of Taylor Vision Designs who I've known for years. He is one of the people responsible for woodworking . When the time is right you will see the finished product on display(next month).
