Our teams are having a feast before Eid! 🍴😋

For some of our colleagues in Asia-Pacific, Turkey and the Middle East, it was the first time they could enjoy an in-person celebration with their colleagues to break fast together as a site and as teams. In Turkey, our chef at the Chocolate Academy İstanbul, Head Chef Yesim Erol created a modern adaptation of a classic bonbon chocolate using ingredients from Callebaut and metallic color powders from Mona Lisa Decorations to mark Bayram.

As the month of Ramadan comes to an end, here’s wishing our partners, customers and colleagues across the world who are celebrating a healthy, serene & prosperous festive season.

We are happy to announce the construction of a new USD 104 million specialty chocolate factory in Ontario, Canada. The new factory will be the 2nd largest factory in our Americas’ network.

What does driving change and scaling impact look like in Cocoa Horizons? 💡 Through data collected over the years, we learn that cocoa farmers, spend on average 70% of their time in post-harvest and only 30% in pre-harvest.

Pre-harvest is a critical step in productivity and quality of cocoa.

This is why we are supporting 7,500 farmers in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana on an innovative approach to pre-harvest labor.

When it comes to deforestation, we are committed to finding a lasting solution in the supply chain. This is why we are scaling up our work to make progress on the deliverables we defined in 2019.

The power of the Cocoa and Forests Initiative (CFI) is that it brings together public and private stakeholders, underlining that industry requires an enabling public policy environment to further scale impact. In close collaboration with IDH, The Sustainable Trade Initiative, the World Cocoa Foundation, industry actors, as well as the Ivorian and Ghanaian governments, we continue to work on achieving both our CFI and Forever Chocolate targets to build a forest positive future.

We just updated the map disclosing our direct #cocoa suppliers in Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Cameroon! 🎉

Due to steady progress in data collection and data management, we are proud to share the geographical location of the cooperatives and buying stations we are directly sourcing from. Our commitment to traceability allows us to identify and minimize the risk of cocoa grown in protected forest areas in our direct supply chain.

A forest is a community’s nucleus 🌱.

To restore biodiversity, protect the fragile forest ecosystem and support the livelihoods of #cocoa farmer communities, we commenced the unique and long-term Agbo 2 forest #reforestation project under Cocoa Horizons and together with our partners #FORLIANCE and Eticwood.

Under this initiative, we have already planted over 50,000 native trees and over the coming three years, we will plant another 150,000 on 300 hectares. This is another great step in our #ForeverChocolate goal to become carbon and forest positive by 2025.
