Seeing our products on the shelves at Seafood City Supermarket Chicago is already something I’m so grateful for. But having to come back almost every week because you guys keep selling us out… I don’t take that for granted.

I know you have so many choices, and the fact that you choose to support something I built from the ground up while carrying on my parents’ legacy from 1985 means more to me than you know.

What a weekend. 🥹

This past weekend at Brother’s Field was JM Manokan’s first major two-day Filipino pop-up, and we couldn’t have asked for a better first experience.

Day 1 — sold out.
Day 2 — almost sold out.

But more than the numbers, what stayed with us were the people.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, bought our marinades, Chicken Oil, bundles, and chicken inasal meals — and especially to those who came back the next day, drove from far away, and continued to support us even though you already make inasal at home.

We learned A LOT this weekend — about preparation, logistics, and what it takes to serve a crowd. And we’re taking every lesson with us as we grow.

To everyone who supported, encouraged, tasted, bought, and shared your feedback: salamat gid. 🫶🏻

This is only the beginning.

A little proud moment I had to capture.

This recipe goes back to 1985, when my parents started our manokan in Bacolod City, Philippines.

Over 40 years later, that same family tradition is now sitting on a shelf here in Chicago.

Seeing my mom walk up to our products at Seafood City and point at them… honestly, that moment meant so much to me.

From Bacolod to Chicago — we’re so proud to share a little piece of our family’s inasal with you.

I came to restock the Chicken Oil, and we’re already down to just a few bottles!
