We’re so excited to welcome our students and staff back for another great school year, and we’re ready to serve up some delicious lunches! 💚

We can’t believe that it’s the last week of Summer Eats ☀️🤯! The weather looks like it is going to be beautiful, so make sure to come out to our meal sites for breakfast and lunch 🥯🥪!

🚨 FOOD TRUCK UPDATE FOR TODAY! 🚨

Our Chicopee FRESH Food Truck will be running a shortened route today as we get ready for National Night Out tonight! 🎉🌭☀️

🚚 Today’s Food Truck Stops:
📍 Ray Ash: 10:30-11:00AM
📍 Rivers Park: 11:10-11:40AM
📍 Sarah Jane Park: 11:50 AM-12:20PM

These will be our ONLY food truck stops today, but don’t worry, our regular Summer Eats meal sites will continue as scheduled! 💚

Then, come find us tonight at National Night Out! 🎉 We’ll be serving up FREE meals and joining in on all the fun! See you there! ☀️🍎🚚

*PLEASE SHARE*:

☀️ Summer Meals Update for Thursday & Friday ☀️

Due to the Heat Advisory expected on Thursday 8/6 and Friday 8/7, all Chicopee FRESH Summer Eats sites will offer grab-and-go meals on both days.

🚛 **IMPORTANT NOTE**: Our Food Truck will NOT be in service on Thursday. We are taking it off the road for the day to replace a part in the generator so it’s ready to serve the community at Chicopee National Night Out on Monday! 🌭

**All other regulations still apply (kids must be present, no parent pickup without kids present, one meal per child)**

And please feel free to still stay and eat at any site if you would like to- we will still be having activities and have several indoor sites, including Bellamy, Lambert-Lavoie, and Bowie! If anything changes we will post to social media ASAP.

We have had so much fun with Chicopee Public Library this week!

Today, we stopped by story time 📖 at River’s Park to make pollinator puppets 🦋🐝! We heard some awesome stories about gardens and being sun-powered ☀️ from children’s librarian, Erin!

And on Monday, ChicopeeFRESH came to teen night at the library to make yummy yogurt bowls 🥣 with two secret ingredients: cinnamon sugar crickets 🦗and strawberry boba pearls 🍓! Did you know that crickets are a complete protein 💪 and a great source of B12? Try some in your next yogurt bowl!

Happy last day of summer school🥳!

All summer long ChicopeeFRESH was out in the school gardens 👨‍🌾 with students planting seeds 🫘, weeding🌱, and watering plants 💧.

For our last classes this week, students at Stefanik, Lambert-Lavoie, and Barry made fruit kebabs 🍡! Using fun shaped veggie-cutters and three different kinds of melons🍉🍈, they made edible masterpieces!

🌧️ SUMMER MEALS WEATHER UPDATE – TODAY (WEDNESDAY, JULY 29) 🌧️

Due to the flood watch and forecasted heavy rain, we’ve made a few adjustments to today’s Summer Eats program to keep everyone safe:

🍽️ Indoor School Meal Sites (Bowie, Lambert-Lavoie, and Bellamy) are operating as scheduled, with lunches served indoors.

🥪 Outdoor School Meal Sites (CHS, CCHS, Barry, Bowe, Fairview, and Stefanik) are offering grab-and-go lunches. If it gets unsafe to serve we will update this post.

🚫 Our Williams Park meal site is CLOSED today and no meals will be served at that location.

🚚 The Chicopee Fresh Food Truck will NOT be visiting any parks today. Instead, we will be serving free meals indoors at the Chicopee Public Library Children’s Activity Room from 12:30–2:00 PM.

🎨 Crafts and activities will only take place at our indoor school sites today (Bowie, Lambert-Lavoie, and Bellamy).

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we adjust for today’s weather. Stay safe, and we’ll see you soon! 💙☔
