As a Southern food truck, we believe FOOD is one of the ways history, family, and community are shared from one generation to the next!

This FRIDAY, we're taking a moment to recognize Juneteenth, a holiday celebrated on June 19th that commemorates the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Texas learned they were free.

Over the years, Juneteenth has become a celebration of freedom, resilience, family, faith, community, and culture.

Many of the foods that are part of Southern traditions—such as collard greens, grits, cornbread, fried fish, black-eyed peas, and countless family recipes—have deep roots in African American history and culinary traditions. Miss Pearl and Leola made sure I knew how to cook them!

At Wicked Twist, we believe learning about the stories behind our food helps us appreciate the people and cultures that helped shape Southern cooking.

We hope you'll take a moment to learn about the history of Juneteenth, gather with people you care about, and enjoy a good meal together. We will be OPEN 11-5 Serving up greens, fish and grits and some other favorites!
