Redemption post : because we all need a break from wars and rumors of wars , riots , and the craziness going on 💁

Lila came to the farm about 5 years ago as a puppy , along with her siblings ( they were dropped off at our driveway ) Thankfully we found homes for the rest of them. I very strongly said " we are not keeping her " , yet here she sits 5 years later 😂
She was absolutely the worst puppy , she had more energy than any dog I have ever had . I eventually found a love for jogging because of her, So I guess that's a win .
She ate chickens , chased cats , and literally caused havoc on the farm.
We continued to work with her , continued to teach , and I continued to "lose my mind" on occasion with her ( I'm sure my neighbors heard me screaming at her when she would grab a chicken or a rabbit 😂)
But today she is able to run free on the farm , without a leash and even guards at night by herself . 😳
Talk about redemption !!
While picking blueberries today i watched her calmness and attention as she watched for anything out of the ordinary .
I never would have thought she could be this wonderful.
She is such a drastic difference from her former self.

What a beautiful picture of what God's love looks like in our lives.
The redemption we receive through Christ is an overwhelming gift , saved from our former path , and set on his path . A path of abundant life .❤️
Thankful for the reminder today of the beautiful work of redemption

These plants are golden aramath..... It's a gluten free grain similar to quinoa. We were excited to try it this year in the garden.
As most of you know we don't use chemicals to do anything on the farm, so when this plant seemed to be eaten alive by these small bugs I didn't jump to fix it. I researched a few natural ways to combat some of the negative effects of the bugs , but then realized that it was still growing and seem to be surviving. So we let it go , we now are getting ready to harvest and are thrilled about the production.
Quick science lesson I have learned recently..... Plants produce phenols when stressed ( bugs, climate , fungus etc.)
The outcome for us are polyphenols
Polyphenols are beneficial compounds found in many plant foods that may improve digestion, brain function, and blood sugar levels. They may also protect against blood clots, heart disease, and certain cancers.
I am continually in awe of God's creation . The way it works so intricately and detailed will forever blow my mind.
With that said ..... The book of James talks about counting it joy when you have trails. As humans we seek comfort, we avoid trails and problems at all costs. If this plant was human we would have coated it in big spray 🤣Thankfully we cannot control everything and God still allows us to walk through seasons of trail. What do these seasons of trail produce ? More specifically what do these seasons produce in you and me ? Steadfastness, wisdom, knowledge, etc. our " human polyphenols" of a sort .

Its that time again! 2024 hay season has begun. We started cutting hay almost 20 years go, with a VERY old Massey Ferguson tractor and a sickle bar mower. We got the fields no one wanted, they were weedy and usually lots of holes. I would have to ride on the hood of the tractor to jump off and unclog the mower when it would get choked down with thick stalks. Lots of memories 😂❤️
It's an understatement to say God has brought us a long way, but I'm so thankful for the memories we have made and the gratitude I now have for the newer equipment.
I am always excited about the season in the beginning 🙌 my excitement usually fades as we reach temps in the high 90s. It always reminds me in life to be thankful for the season God has placed me in currently, look back and remember his wonderous works of seasons past, and look forward to seasons he is to bring. With that said, i am super thankful God has provided beautiful felids, excellent weather, and working equipment for the first of the season. Here's to the 2024 hay season, may we grow in wisdom and knowledge, and may the harvest be abundant.
