We were delighted to have numerous schools visit us this year including Granton, Emanuel Lutheran and Bethel. We love to give tours of our operation and to educate adults and children on the maple syrup making process. Let us know if you are interested in this for next season...schools, clubs and groups are all welcome!

What a great season it has been. All the maple family is back together and it certainly has grown from last year.

We have decided that Friday will be the last day of making maple syrup. The spring peepers are croaking, the buds are popping and the syrup is starting to change flavor signalling the end is near.

We ask that everyone try to deliver the last of their sap by the end of Thursday, or noon Friday at the latest. The forecast seems to keep warming every time we look at it with minimal nights below freezing.

Thanks to all and have a great night!

We drew the winner of the Basket for the chili 4H and the sugar content.

For the sap content we had a lot of great guesses, so many we had to draw a name out of a bucket for the closest. The sugar tested at 12.5. the winner of this basket was Irene Ellis

The Chili 4H basket winner was Dan Snorthiem. We thank everyone who bought a ticket to donate to the Chili 4H.

We will be in contact with you both to get you your basket.

What a beautiful day and an even better sunset as we finished hauling sap.

We want to thank everyone that stopped out yesterday for the annual breakfast of pancakes, maple syrup, sausage, hash browns, cheese curds and refreshments. From the plate count, well over 300 people attended.

We were glad to be cooking maple syrup today so they all could experience the process of making wood-fired maple syrup. The building was full of fun, amazement and new experiences as so many huddled near the evaporator for a closeup of the process and to enjoy the smell of maple syrup that filled the building. We were able to put hot maple syrup on the soft serve ice cream for all.

Special thanks to the amazing crew of family and friends that showed up to help today. We're so looking forward to doing this again next year.

Thank you everyone!!

Our wood pellet cooker has been running flawlessly the last few days. I love this video and maybe even better...the song.

Started getting a little tight on the sap storage today, so we made some connections and this beauty showed up giving us 6,500 more gallons of storage. Special thanks!!! We have been making that delicious wood fired syrup 14 hours a day and we can't thank all our family and friends enough. 30 loads of sap were hauled today with the 1,000 gallon tank trailers.

Great Grandma and Grandpa were in the sugar shed today and Grandma got to feed one month old Knox.

We sent Brenda to town to get restocked on ice cream that we have for all our visitors and sap family. We had the county board chairman and another board member stop in for a tour and some ice cream. They said that they heard Pettit Family Maple was the operation to see in the county. Stop in and see for yourself... visitors are welcome.

We also had someone here today that said he didn't like maple syrup. I gave him samples of the four flavored syrups that we make. He was amazed by what he was tasting and bought a pint of each before he walked out the door!

Hooked up with the world's fastest firewood cutter...Kenny Pettit. 10 hours and we had ten loads of wood hauled home along with him cutting a few semi loads of logs in between . Enough to heat the house for 2 years. My back appreciates it!!! Proud of my logger son!
