‼️Moral of the story, eat trusted American RAISED beef direct from a rancher OR from the store (if can be proven it’s American beef).. Buy tallow from someone who can tell you these kinds of stories, who care deeply about what’s actually in your jar of face cream⬇️

I’ve told her story before but I’ll tell it again. She was a twin to a bull calf (Free Martin) out of a heifer (first time having a calf). Poor girl was doomed the day she was born. I just so happen to thankfully be checking them the second Sugar was born, she came after her twin brother. Out she came, no movement. I rushed up to remove the sack from her face and begin stimulating her. Nothing. Poked her nose, did all the tricks. Still nothing. Me being me grabbed her mouth, put mine to hers and began blowing air. Sticky slimy Ewwy nasty for sure. Did this a couple times and suddenly she gasped for air. And then again. And again. Good led to better and she finally got her lungs cleared out and was breathing better. Meanwhile the new mom had taken to her twin brother and wanted absolutely nothing to do with her. As a first time mom I didn’t expect her to raise two. So away Sugar and I went to get some colostrum. After an hour fight to learn to suck I went ahead and tubed the colostrum to be safe. Unfortunately that wasn’t the end of the battle. She was a bit of a slow learner. Her and I camped out in the front yard for 4 hours trying to learn to stand and suck. She was very ambitious but things weren’t clicking. Lots of time and patience that day led to a healthy bottle baby who is now headed to the butcher next month.

Why butcher a bottle calf? I don’t usually. But she was special to me. I would prefer her to never ever leave my care until the day she’s harvested. Sounds brutal, but it’s life. This little turd never ever had a stressful day in her life, ate like a queen, and roamed free for months before having to be confined with her friends. If I coulda asked her at a young age, she probably woulda told me she thought she was a corgi… They all serve a purpose and it’s hard to let them go. I’ll bawl my eyes out when I drop her off, I always do. I genuinely care about these creatures I’m blessed enough to get to care for. Not all of them get to live their lives here, others get sent on to serve their purpose elsewhere.

This might weird you out but there’s a very high possibility sugar will be what makes your jar of face cream. You might think that’s horrific. To me, it’s amazing. Simply amazing they can provide such nutrient rich products for our body to consume and thrive on. The best part? I know that she lived the absolute best life a calf could ever live, because I seen her everyday. If you came to my house tomorrow she’d still meet you at the gate and let you love on her. There’s just something so special about caring for an animal that serves a very valuable purpose in your life.

Much love for you soogie, counting my blessings that I got to spend your entire life with you🫶🏼

I’ve never shared pictures of my workspace. It’s my dining room. No fancy building, cute decor, or a Pinterest worthy place. It’s a functionable, economical, comfortable place for me to do what I need to do. It works, and I’m proud of what I’ve built out of a simple little room and a kitchen aid mixer.

Side note- lots of questions about steaks. Unfortunately I do not share those🙂 we eat steak 2-4 times a week. There is absolutely nothing better than a home raised steak for supper. SORRY!
