At the end of May these two celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary and yesterday evening we were able to take a break from the crazy summer farm schedule for a family dinner to celebrate!

After dinner the great grandkids played in the front yard, while the rest of us sat around and listened to the story of how Joe and Marlene met, and some of the wisdom they’ve learned along the way!

The love these two share has been poured into this family and our farm and we are so thankful for all the blessings that have come from it!

So we are wishing a Happy Anniversary Marlene and Joe, the hearts from which this farm began! 💕

Wheat harvest is fast approaching so I felt our gorgeous rouge de Bordeaux wheat needed a spotlight moment!

You may be thinking, why grow a heritage grain when you could be pushing production? For us at Dresbach Farms, we choose to grow food for our community and this wheat will end up on the tables of our community across Ohio with the help of our friends

This wheat grows very well in our regenerative system and is one of our favorites to grow each year! We are thankful to be able to grow food that feeds our community and ends up on so many plates across Ohio 🌾

Whole chicken restock!!!

I know we have been sold out of whole chickens since January and we have finally restocked!! Frozen Whole chickens available through ordering online or stopping in at our farm store Wednesdays 5-7, Fridays 3-5 and Saturdays 9-noon!

A little update on something we have been working hard to bring to the farm! This is our Independence-19 Revolution Agriculture drone! We continue to find ways to maximize the benefits of what this drone can bring to our operation!

We are working hard to cut back on compaction and now we can apply what the plants need, when they need it without compacting the ground by running over it with heavy equipment!

If you’ve seen us out spraying this week, our crops are getting a dose of our compost tea made of vermicompost, seaweed and molasses! This will help provide them with bioavailable nutrients and sugars to boost the immune system in the plants!

Stay tuned for some of the other fun things we get into with this drone this summer!

We had a great time with some Piketon students this week when they came to the farm for a visit! We got to plant, talk composting and compost tea, help move the chickens from the brooder to pasture, talk about soil health and growing food for our community in a regenerative ecosystem, had a lunch made with things from the farm, and got to spray some of the compost tea we made with our Revolution Ag drone!

Video captured from the planter tractor as we planted our soybeans into this standing rye cover crop! The number of birds circling the tractor and field were crazy! We love to see all the life in our fields and on our farm! 🐦‍⬛🪶🌱

Read with your Farmer: Saturday March 21, 2026 from 10-noon!

One of our farm goals this year is to intentionally pour into our community as much as we can so we want to invite you and your kiddos out to our farm store for our Read with your Farmer event!

We will have a reading area set up for Farmer Lydia to read agriculture related books to the kids that come, an area set up with farm centered coloring pages, an area for some farm puzzles, and an assortment of agriculture related books for adults to read too!

Our farm store will be open during this time too for anyone wanting to support our family farm, though a purchase is not necessary for you to come and enjoy being a part of our farm community!

We hope to see you as we celebrate National Reading Month this March!
