Second half done today! 💪🏻 Went way smoother than last night's cuts too 😅 Tomorrow will be much colder, but on to the boars cuts.

Super proud of one of our boys too! He has a generally very weak stomach, but was able to spend the morning helping me get all the hard cuts done and moved for packaging. 🥰

Only the worst two went yesterday. Big, bad female and a boar last night we decided needed his last day here. 🐷 No sense...

These pictured get more time, more growth, and love. 💗

Now on to curing bacon and ham. 😏

It's been a bit since we've processed our own. 😏 went super well though, minor things I'll remember and do better/different next time (a few weeks). Overall though, another experience worthwhile and thankful to fully know where our pork came from. 🙌🏻

We had issues with her "hunting" chickens a couple months back. Signed it off to pregnancy related and mineral type need. Penned her up and let her mother her piglets.

Unfortunately, upon release, she went straight back to hunting mode. 😡 Won't tolerate that. Between breaking fencing, finding break spots to reach what she wants, and hunting other stock......this weekends temps will lend toward a great time for processing. Piglets can be weaned, and while I would have preferred taking her to a processor due to her size (largest pig here), I can't wait a month & a half and deal with her behavior.

Here's to a full weekend and future bacon. 💪🏻

Time will tell if she is as good a real mama, as she has been a "step mama" to all the babies born this spring/summer.

Last year, I was emotional about seeing the cows go get processed.
This year, I'm officially counting the days! 😡☠️

I had produce in my garden.....at one point......they were nice enough to leave the bitter melon, luffa, and cucamelons. Everything else apparently needed pruned or pulled.

Waygu steaks, burger, and brisket sure do sound pretty yummy right now. 😒🤪🥩🍔🐂

Not perfect. Lots of weeds, used that 4yr old garden fabric again, so its getting tired. The garden is producing though, keeping pollinators busy, and looking to be good harvests.
