Here at Southern Class Poultry we specialize in Large Fowl and Bantam Cochins. I currently have two color projects I'm working on with my Bantam Cochins. Black and Millie Fluer. Cochins are great birds with great personalities and are beautiful to look at. I am also working on Lemon Blue Large Fowl Cochins and splash. My Seramas come in many different colors. I strive for small birds, vibrant colo
rs, and good postures. Seramas have great attitudes and are often known as the "Toy Soldiers" or "Dolly Partons" of the chicken world. They were given this name by the way they carry themselves with confidence and beauty. All my seramas get low protein feed supplemented with multiple seed mixtures along with greens. Everyday, (weather permitting) my Seramas and other bantams that are kept in hutches get supervised free ranging time. This allows the birds to release energy and also to bring out natural instincts. Also there are great treats for the birds to increase color and shine in each birds plumage. I always raise and keep my birds in clean suitable conditions. I go by, if I wouldn't like living in it, my birds won't. Here at Southern Class Poutry we encourage natural things that a chicken instinctively knows to do. Such as, broodiness and raising chicks. I prefer my chicks to be raised by my hens. They tend to be more hardy and are prepared for life as soon as mom is done raising them.
