JUMP (Chinook) When Faith Meets Doubt...Just JUMP

09/03/2026

A few of the kids wanted to make a Mission Team Intro video like we've done in the past before we headed out to Alaska. There's a link below to the final product, and we hope you enjoy our amazing acting skills.

Thank you all for supporting JUMP!

Regular JUMP returns in September!

As we wrap up the first week back to school we are also going to wrap up our Mission member recaps. We hope you have enjoyed getting a glimpse into how these trips impact these kids, and adults too! This was Johnathan’s second mission trip, and to say he came out of his shell is an understatement! “My favorite part was the views, the mountains were beautiful. My favorite work place was the Beans cafe because of the work we did and the time we spent there hearing about their impact. The most impactful part for me on the mission trip was giving sandwiches to the poor, because they were hungry and we gave them food. It was cool to see their reactions.”

Only two posts left highlighting Mission member recaps but never fear, if you didn’t see a post from your favorite team member that just means you get to pester them in person about what the trip meant to them! This was Oliver’s second mission trip, and we’ve loved seeing him grow in both his faith and leadership since being a part of JUMP. “My favorite work site was probably undoing the Christmas lights and cleaning up the little children's rooms at the church and my favorite free time was hanging out in the church just talking with everyone on the team.”

We’re winding down with our Mission member recaps but not before hearing from Norah! It was her first trip, and first year at JUMP and we couldn’t love having her more!! “My favorite part about the mission trip was definitely handing out sandwiches to the homeless. It really impacted me and I got to learn that not everyone is as fortunate is me. I really enjoyed hiking along the scenic trails. I am super grateful for having a chance to see a real moose! I enjoyed team time a lot as well as getting to know more about everyone on the trip. It was super fun when I got to go on a run with our mystery leader Aaron and other team members! Overall it was a very influential experience and I am grateful to have had a chance to go on the trip.”

With school right around the corner the mission trip feels like a lifetime ago, but these trips have a lifetime impact! Just check out what Mission member Lexi has to say about her first trip. “I had an amazing experience on the mission trip, but out of the worksites, my favorite was cutting down trees and loading the trailers. This was my favorite because we knocked out 1 weeks worth of work in 6 hours. It felt pretty good to have the house keeping there know they had extra time for themselves. My absolute favorite extra activity was going to the beach. Even though it was a little bit windy, (it wasn’t little) I had the best time with two of my best friends Laura and Rachel. We took pictures and got in the water up to our jeans. I would say what was the most impactful for me, but I have two ideas that I just can’t pick between. This first one was also during the tree cutting. Some of the residents of the teen rehab came outside and asked to play basketball with us. They immediately were so comfortable with us, chatting, teasing, and laughing. Just honestly having a great time. I think it was impactful because I got to fully understand what they had gone through to be at that point in their life and that they were trying their best to change and it was working. It reminded me of how great Gods love is for everyone and that he watches over all of us. The second one was 100% the feet washing. Also Our leaders did a great job keeping us busy for a week and returned the favor by doing this. I loved how each and every leader had a very heartfelt and honest prayer for me. It definitely changed how I think, act, and live.
The best part, I grew so much closer to Jesus.”

It’s been a few days but we’re back with another Mission member recap. Rian has been a faithful JUMP member the past two years and was a great first year mission member. We can’t wait for many more years with her!! “My favorite place was the food pantry because we got to throw melons😂 I loved the ocean and going on hikes!! It was so fun with everyone😊”

Here’s another Mission member recap. We’ve loved having the Noel’s at JUMP with us the last two years and can’t wait to see what they do in Froid, but we will miss them! As an aside, if you or anyone you know if feeling the call to help out lead Jesus hungry teens let us know! “Hey everyone. My name is Alicia Noel. This was my second mission trip and first time ever in Alaska! I think my favorite mission experience was going down town and feeding the homeless. So many kids were nervous, but after a few people handed out sandwiches, everyone got involved! My favorite extra activity was getting to see my cousin at the farmers market and seeing a moose (see attached video in the comments for how close we were)! I think the most impactful thing to me was seeing the group be so vulnerable, letting us wash their feet, and pray with them. Though this is my last mission trip as a Chinook Jump leader, I can’t wait for the combined Chinook/Froid mission trips. Please pray for Trent and me as we take this next step in creating an extension of Jump in Froid.”
