One of the biggest misconceptions about booking a newborn photography session is that babies sleep peacefully through the entire experience.
As a San Diego newborn photographer, I can tell you that’s rarely how it works. 😊
Behind every beautiful newborn portrait are feeding breaks, diaper changes, outfit adjustments, cuddles with mom, and plenty of patience. Newborn photography is never rushed because every baby has their own schedule, and the best newborn photos happen when we allow them the time they need to settle naturally.
Creating timeless newborn portraits is about much more than taking pictures. It’s about creating a calm, comfortable experience where parents can relax and enjoy these first precious days with their baby.
And when baby finally drifts off to sleep, that’s when the magic happens.
If you’re expecting and looking for a San Diego newborn photographer, I recommend reserving your newborn photography session during your second or third trimester to ensure availability. Most newborn photos are created within the first few weeks after birth while babies are still tiny, sleepy, and curly.
