What started as a simple hobby has grown into a passion-driven small business dedicated to providing high-quality birds to customers across the country. Founded by Tommy Oakley Sr., a retired U.S. Army veteran, our farm is built on a legacy of service, dedication, and family heritage. Tommy, also known as the "Guinea Man," served as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician and Cavalry Scout
before retiring from the military in 2023. Shortly after, he turned his love for raising birds into Over the Berm Guinea Farm, located on his family’s land—property that has been in his family for over 150 years. We specialize in raising and selling French and Kenya guinea fowl, mandarin ducks, pheasants, bobwhite quail, cotton geese, and phoenix and silky chickens. Among these, guinea fowl have become our signature birds. Known for their pest control abilities, natural protective instincts (“the farmer’s alarm”), and their resilience to extreme weather, guineas have proven to be both practical and entertaining additions to any farm. Their rising demand continues to exceed expectations, and we’re proud to provide high-quality birds to our customers year after year. At Over the Berm Guinea Farm, we’re committed to raising strong, healthy birds with care and integrity. Our motto, “Raising Quality, Not Quantity,” reflects our dedication to producing only the best poultry, while our signature phrase, "Guinea Up!", embodies the excitement and energy we bring to this business every day. Thank you for supporting a veteran-owned farm. We look forward to helping you find the perfect birds for your farm or homestead!
