Our girl Lucy delivered 11 healthy, and gorgeous, pure chocolate heeler puppies. 6 boys and 5 girls! They were born on 5/27/26. The kids are so excited, especially Mary-Kathryn, she spends most of her day in the sunroom watching their every move. 😍😍😍😍

Back in April of 2024, Evelyn and I took a road trip to pick up a miniature Hereford cow strictly for her dark color and double eye pigment. While there, we saw the guy’s herd bull, and he made me rethink every decision I made about purchasing cows since we started our journey in 2022. He was big-boned, big-hipped, deep-bellied, had incredible rib shape, a smooth top line, and everything came together with a balanced and well-proportioned look.

Fast forward to February 2026, we got what we thought was an amazing opportunity. The guy was getting out of the minis and was looking to sell that same bull that made us come home and cull hard to build a herd similar to what we now knew existed. We seized the opportunity and grabbed “HL Built Defferent”. His calves are just starting to hit the ground, and man, he did not disappoint.

Today we are excited to announce that we have decided to share him with whoever’s interested in adding these incredible genetics to their herd.

Camille has already claimed her show heifer for next year. RBR MISS JOLENE is less than three weeks old, and Camille is already working with her on the halter and taming her. This girl has a love for animals, and it always shows when it comes to breaking calves.

As we wrap up our 2026 4-H show season with the AgCenter State Livestock Show, we are super proud of our girls for all they achieved. This year, we were blessed to win at levels we only previously dreamed of, and we couldn’t be more grateful. However, the work ethic and life lessons learned along with the great memories made year-round will always trump any banner, buckle, or ribbon they receive from coming out on top. It isn’t always easy or fun, but these girls put their heads down and get the work done with a smile on their face 99% of the time. We are very proud of the young women they are becoming and cannot wait to see what the future holds for them!

In the last 4 years of showing, we have met so many great people we now call friends and made memories we will cherish for life. It was great seeing everyone, and congrats to all the exhibitors! Already looking forward to next year!

The Southwest Districe 4H livestock show was a blast, and the girls even came home with something to show for their hard work and dedication. So proud of them for doing such a great job in preparing their calves for the show ring.
