Changing seasons, no matter how many times we’ve lived this exact shift from summer into fall, is always a bit of a jolt.

Maybe because no two years ever look the same.

What’s predictable: the kids head back to school, the weather cools, and our gardens and farms finally give up their harvest.

Unpredictable — the yield. The give-and-take of a whole season, written right into it.

Regardless, we prevail.

We’re honored to be doing it alongside those in our region who’ve planted before us — and thrilled to co-author the story in the bottle, one that’ll land on your table and start weaving itself into your own.

In 1854 famous American poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, was sent a case of wine from the Midwest.
He loved it so much, he wrote it a poem.

“Very good in its way, is the Verzenay,
Or the Sillery soft and creamy;
But Catawba wine has a taste more divine,
More dulcet, delicious, and dreamy.”

Daydream. 100% Catawba. Still dreamy, 172 years later.

The Daylily x Rowdy Rooster picnics have been an absolute hit with our club members this season — and on September 26, anyone can get a taste.

We're pouring at Happy Hour at Bella Mercado, an animal sanctuary in the Fort Wayne countryside, less than 10 minutes from downtown. A welcome glass of wine when you arrive, your Rowdy Rooster charcuterie box in hand, and from there — stroll the farm among the animals, groove to live music on the lawn, or work through a wine tasting with us. The perfect first stop to a Saturday night out, or easily the main event.

The farm is Lana Beregszazi's childhood dream come true — a place where the animals are cared for simply because she loves them. All proceeds go straight back to that care.

There are deep animal-loving roots on our team. Cody grew up on a horse farm, seeing firsthand the dedication it takes to care for large animals. And Emily spent her childhood helping out in her family's veterinary clinic. So when Lana asked us to pour at her first-ever event, it was an easy yes.

If you’re reading this, here’s your assignment: get yourself outside immediately. Pour something fitting for nature’s insane beauty. Isabella Rosé runs strawberry on the nose and just wild enough on the finish — a wine that clearly favors summer.

Three months from now you’ll be three layers deep, thinking about a red wine and a fine piece of meat. For now, pop your shoes off. Pick some flowers. Sip on something worthy of the occasion. 💐🥂

Pleased to more formally introduce to you, Daydream. 🦋

A canned, 100% Catawba wine built for summer. She’s easy on the eyes and the palate.

Off-dry, crisp, lightly floral. Bursting with white peach and strawberry.

Best served ice cold — feet up, as little clothing as you can get away with, out on the porch with a good view of your garden.

Catawba’s history is crazy cool by the way.

This grape has been making Americans happy since long before California ran the American wine show — back in the 1850s, it powered the bright pink wines people fell in love with, and poets were literally writing odes to it.

We like to think it’s spent the years since then daydreaming about summers exactly like this one.

We put it in a can because, it just felt RIGHT.

Meet ✨Daydream ✨ Consider this her very soft launch.

Spending all day in the vineyard >

Oh, and! We’re excited to introduce our newest grape babe to the lineup: Melody. She’s a cold-hardy white grape that’s been on Cody’s radar for a while — he first got excited about it after joining Scott from Pilgrimage Wine Company on Prost! Podcast hosted by Scott Eckart, that conversation planted the seed (sorry). Melody is a hybrid bred in the ‘60s at Cornell, part Seyval Blanc, part Pinot Blanc lineage — light, bright white with peach and honeysuckle character. Aromatic, refreshing, built for a (crazy) climate like ours.

On the other side of the door SWIPE → to see the tasting room glow up, which is currently as quiet as it looks but not for long. Production room construction starts soon. Public opening is now looking like fall/winter into early 2027 — construction timelines being the wildly optimistic fiction they always are. We’re rolling with it. 🥂

hi we do love you, we just haven’t taken our hands out of the dirt long enough to update everyone on the progress of things.

As you know, a tasting room is in the works. And, wow it’s looking lovely. Lived-in, old world charm. Maybe we’ll share a photo soon. 😉

When the weather turns, our attention shifts outdoors — to the vineyard and the native landscape taking shape around it. This year alone, we’ve planted more than 30 trees, too many native flowers to count, and 291 vines‼️😄

Someday soon, you’ll drive down our long gravel lane toward the tasting room, surrounded by all the lush beauty that started with this season’s planting.
