Next Meeting is Nov 14, 2019

This Thursday our program will be Homebrew Hacks. Do you do anything to save time or money? Have you engineered your system to fit your needs? Have any advice for your fellow brewers? Then bring your ideas this week!
If you have one or ten ideas/items, please respond to this and let me know so I can get idea of how many we will discuss. You can bring in equipment, bring pictures, or simply just explain what you do. Also, feel free to chime in during our discussion Thursday as well!
I truly feel you learn something new every time you brew with someone, so I know there can be a lot to be gained from each other.

The Cincinnati Malt Infusers are having their annual Oktobersbest Homebrew Competition on Saturday 10/12 at the Norwood Community Center. Among other prizes, the winner of the Festbier category will get a chance to brew their recipe on our BrauKon system!

Hi everyone and welcome to the last days of summer. We are busy with our fall selection and hope to soon have those posted on our on-line storefront. In the meantime we want to give a big thank you to all the members of the Cincinnati Malt Infusers Club for inviting us to their 1st (and hopefully not last) Beer and Chocolate Tasting. We had a blast and we met a lot of really great folks who have impeccable taste not only for great beer but great chocolate as well. Here was the list of pairings. Eat and drink your heart out.😏

What could be better than a beer and chocolate pairing?

This Thursday September 12, 2019 we have a special guest. Cindi Ventrola who founded Carmatillie Chocolate will be our guest speaker. She is also a craft beer aficionado, and has used many of Cincinnati’s finest beers in her chocolates, from Blank Slate days to Woodburn’s mint chocolate stout and several from Braxton.

Join us for a special beer and chocolate pairing this week.

There will be beer and chocolates to taste and special boxes of chocolates to purchase if you would like.

Summer is moving on quickly and it is already time for our August Meeting. This month we are tasting the results of the CMI Schwarzbier Project and comparing to commercial examples.
Bring a growler - or - bottles of your beer to share.
Since everyone started with the same base grains and recipe, be ready to discuss how you went about making it.

Happy 4th of July to everyone!

The format for our July meeting is going to be a Best of Show. Please bring either a growler or 3-4 bottles of your homebrew to the meeting. We will set up a blinded tasting so that we can follow along with the judges as they determine the best of show.

If you are able to bring your beer to the meeting to be judged, please send me an email : [email protected]. That way we can try to have the tasting blinded, and you might not ever recognize your own beer.

The canoe trip will be on July 20, 2019 at 50 West. Meet there at the canoe rental at 1 pm. It is on the side behind the sand volleyball courts. We will canoe and return to 50 West for a few pints after a hot day of paddling. Rain date is August 3, 2019.

Reminder for those who have the Schwartz Beer kits, we are planning to sample your beers at the August meeting on August 8th, so happy brewing and fermenting.
