Hey, Friends 👋

Did you hear the news today? All Painted Tree Boutique locations are closed, effectively immediately.

Around noon today, over 10,000 vendors across two dozen states were notified that all operations have ceased & we have a matter of days with very limited hours to collect our mini storefronts. While we *only* have three locations within two states, many vendors have multiple locations in multiple states and that makes me so sad.

On one hand, we are relieved in that it has become challenging to navigate the uncertain operations occurring, including money owed by the company balanced with not feeling comfortable investing more inventory and resources into the store that has led to needing to make necessary modifications for our regular Painted Tree customers not finding what they love in store. Sometimes things have a way of showing you the correct path to take, even if dramatic.

On the other hand, we are saddened to leave a space we have invested so much time & energy into to create a presence in our customer's communities. We are sad for all the lost revenue the vendors have & will experience, the loss of so many jobs, the loss of integral small business representation, and the loss of connection we had with our Painted Tree customers over the past three years. Please keep everyone in your thoughts during this time, especially as everyone scrambles to collect their things & not lose more.

For awhile, we will be offering automatic FREE SHIPPING on our website for all orders over $30 to help bridge the gap with our customers while we continue to decide and work towards what is next. Thank you for showing up for us at Painted Tree and for continuing to support Chicory Tea Co. And, the deepest thank you to my village for helping me retrieve my belongings in all the corners of Ohio & Kentucky.

My name is Ashley and I am the owner of Chicory Tea Co. I live in the Cincinnati area with my husband, daughter and fur babies, Quincy & Brownie. I love to read & attend my book club, meet new people, supporting small businesses, and go on local adventures!

Chicory Tea Co. was founded in 2020 as an Ohio tea company with the mission of infusing moments of love, light, joy, and peace into the daily routines of life. With a profound appreciation for various tea varieties, including herbal tea, black tea, green tea, and white tea, paired with locally sourced infused honey from our home state of Ohio, we aspire to offer you a reason to slow down each day and nourish your soul.

🌿 GROW WITH US! 🌿

I always knew this day would come and, honestly, I should have made it come much sooner! 😅

As I have reflected on the goals and aspirations of Chicory Tea Co. in 2026 these past couple weeks of the new year, I realized that it is now truly time to start building a team because I cannot successfully reach any of these goals if I don't ask for help!

But, I don't want to just build any team.

I want to provide an amazing opportunity of community, learning new skills, growth, feeling valued and having fun. The roles I am looking to fulfill in the next few months are:

🌿 Production Assistant - making, packaging & labeling
🌿 Market Assistants - markets, pop ups & events
🌿 Delivery & Merchandising Assistant - retail partners

At this time, each role will be a contractor position and will have an applicable pay rate for each position, along with some special bonuses of the tea & honey variety. 🤗 All positions will be very flexible, but weekends will be required at times for the Market Assistant (events are mostly on the weekends!).
